Dramatic Society

Our member’s evenings represent excellent value for money.  They comprise some sort of entertainment and food all for the great price of £4 for members.  Non-members are welcome for £8.  Why not join and enjoy these evenings with us as a thank-you to all our members.  Book early as the last one sold out!

The Edwardian Games evening by Miq Keland was a great success and enjoyed by all those who braved the idea of charades and brought some new faces to the stage!

February 2010 Member’s Evening

A fabulous spread was organized by Dawn Hanlon.

Anything Goes by Dawn Hanlon and Natalie Nelson was a variety show of singing, sketches  and poetry, ranging from Shakespeare to Pete and Dud.

December 2009 Member’s Evening

With gorgeous Xmas pies and Xmas carols, it was a fun night that got us all in the festive mood.  Photos here (right click to open in new window)

The play was “The Hitman” by JCW Brook. If you have ever heard of someone who might be in line for a concrete overcoat you will find the play even funnier than those who haven’t. Italian food completed the evening.

February 2011 Member’s Evening

This mini panto directed by Wendy brought a belated taste of Xmas.  The hall was filled almost to the max as we booed hissed and laughed our way through Cinderella.  Also Xmas pies, deserts & a quiz made this a very successful evening.

”Folk with Mike Nicholson”

 

We will be entertained by Mike Nicholson, one of our members, who is an accomplished professional singer. You may remember him as playing Captain Cat, the star of “Under Milk Wood” aand a few other roles as well.

August 2011 Member’s Evening

The play was “In Two Minds” directed and written by Justin Curtis and winner of the Chairman’s Challenge 2010, centring around Gemma and Mary.  A sell out evening with people being turned away! Food was organised by Betsy.

December 2011 Member’s Evening

Our Members put on sketches, read poems & performed musical numbers, plus we enjoyed specially made Christmas pies for a delicious supper.  Produced by Julia and Hermin.
